TxN fic~

So. I've been planning this sort of series of TutixNagayan fics. How the idea came about is a long story that I'm sure no one is interested in, so I'll just skip to the important part :D

The title of the series is "Koma Okuri," and for an explanation of what that is, check out KY's lovely song analysis on "Slow Jam".

This series is, more or less, a "koma okuri" of Tuti and Nagayan's relationship, all from Nagayan's point of view (3rd-person, though ♥). I'm going to try to highlight all of the important events, and any little things I can come up with on my own.

I like this, because it lets me write completely out of order :D And so, I finally wrote the first part of this today -- only it's really not the first part. It's waaaay down the line, but...I felt like writing it first. Whether anyone feels like reading it first is up to them, of course. :D

Title: "Koma Okuri", No. 1
Author: Kaede
Pairing: TutixNagayan
Rating: Uh....PG?
Word Count: 653

Summary: And thus, Decossam was born.

Notes: Will I ever get used to calling Nagayan by his first name? Also, it's late and I'm tired, I'll probably notice stuff wrong with this tomorrow.

"Takashi, I'm going to take a bath..."

Tuti was standing in the doorway, but Takashi didn't bother to look up. "Have fun," he replied distractedly, still staring intently at the papers spread out on the table in front of him.

"Don't you want to come with me?" Tuti drawled, putting an emphasis on each word.

"No."

"Eh?" The attempt at sounding seductive was gone from his voice. "Why not?"

"I'm working."

"Working?" Tuti sounded incredulous, and out of the corner of his eye Takashi saw him walk towards the table. "What is that, anyway? Blossam stuff?"

"Yeah," Takashi answered, finally glancing up. Tuti was looking at the papers, an eyebrow raised.

"What'd you bring it over here for? And it's a Sunday, Takashi, you shouldn't be working."

Takashi shrugged. "I always have designs with me."

"Well, they'll still be there later," Tuti reasoned, grinning now. "So c'mon."

The other man shook his head. "No. I want to work."

"But..." Tuti's expression was caught between being hurt and amused. "But, Takashi...work. Versus a bath."

"I'm not in the mood for it, Tuti," Takashi said simply, and turned his attention back to his designs. He narrowed his eyes at one of them, tapping his pencil lightly against the table, considering. He didn't mean to disappoint Tuti, but he was telling the truth. When he was in the mood to work on his designs – really, truly in the mood for it – almost nothing could distract him. He knew Tuti knew that, and so he expected the other man to sigh, give up, and leave him in peace for the good hour it often took him to take a bath.

He was soon so focused on his work that he barely registered the fact that Tuti wasn't actually leaving. "Really?" Tuti asked after a moment, nearly making him jump.

"Huh?" he said, blinking up at him, wondering why he was still in the room.

"You'd really rather work on that than come take a bath with me?" His voice was softer than usual.

Takashi shifted in his seat, and looked back down at the table. "Right now, yes." And he didn't want Tuti making him feel guilty about it, either.

"Then...can I help?"

Takashi's head shot up again. "What?" he asked, trying and failing to hold back a laugh.

"I said, I want to help."

"Are you serious?" Even as he asked it, Takashi wasn't sure what he wanted the answer to be.

Tuti nodded slowly. "If you're willing to give up a bath with me to work on this stuff...I want to see what's so great about it."

Takashi gave him a scrutinizing look. "You're serious? Really serious? You're not just trying to distract me?"

He shook his head slightly. "I mean it, Takashi. I want to help."

Takashi looked at him. He would be insane to even consider it; the man had absolutely no sense of fashion whatsoever, and Takashi had Blossam's reputation to think about...

Tuti's face broke into a wide grin under his gaze, and Takashi wondered who he thought he was trying to kid. He stood up. "Okay then," he said, fighting back his own smile. He moved away from the table, and grabbed the hem of his shirt, peeling it off as he walked.

"Ehh?" Tuti said loudly, sounding confused. "What? I thought...we were...working?"

"We're having a business meeting," Takashi replied, turning at the doorway to look back at Tuti, his hands poised on the button of his pants. "You, however" – he glanced up and down, from Tuti's head to his feet and back again – "seem to be dressed inappropriately for this meeting."

Tuti grinned again. "Oh, I think I can fix that."

"Well, hurry up; this is one meeting you might not want to be late for." The smile finally broke through, and Takashi turned and walked out of the room, hearing a laugh and footsteps follow quickly behind him.

kkjkajdkasdkasfasjdklajakja soooooo friggen CUTE *spazzes and implodes*

Okay okay I was going to completely squeal all over you in chat after I read the notes at the beginning of this story so I'll just say it here. This is pure irony at work. Irony! See, just yesterday I was going through my old docs and IM conversations (it was how I found that story Jamie wrote I mentioned earlier) and one of the conversations I stumbled across was between myself and Jamie regarding an idea for doing a TxN fic that documents their relationshi in a series of snap-shots, with just small, several hundred word long "moments" written out to show their relationship developments. It was just a random conversation and an idea that never went anywhere though, but when I read the log a part of me went, "damn, I really wish I could see that now" because the appeal for that kind of story hadn't faded one bit. And then, I see this post and your notes and I am just tickled pink by the irony and the coincidence of the whole situation :D

But on to the story! Gah so good! So cute! So in character!! *___* You got Tuti down so well, and Nagayan, I can just picture that thinking, work-type pout on his face while he taps a pencil and thinks :3 You did a great job keeping them in the right place, the right mindset, the right reactions to the words they were saying, and I have to say I loved the dialogue, especially at the end there. Nagayan trying to distract Tuti from inflicting his bad fashion sense with sex, I loved it XDD

I can't wait to see where you're going with this or what ideas you might get for showing the various stages of their relationship ♥ I can say from personal experience that this method of storytelling can be very rewarding and a lot of fun, because it gives the author the chance to explore so many things within the same amount of space. Really, really great idea here, I couldn't have thought of one better myself XD

Ah! Adorable!! XD XD And like KY said, it's so funny that you're doing this, because we were just talking about an idea like this last weekend. :D I really like the "Koma Okuri" idea too. *__* I've always been fascinated by that phrase, and this seems like a really great way to use it. *nods* Anyway, I loved this, and I'm really looking forward to more! ^________^

Excellent! ^_^ Haven't read any fics like this before!

You really have a knack for description. I don't know if I've read anything you've written before (I probably have, though sometimes I don't pay close attention to whose stuff I'm reading. ^^;;;;) and I really like this! ^__^

You're going to keep going, aren't you? *eyes wiggle* I want to see what happens next!

Oh, I can so see that trying-not-to-smile look on Nagayan's face...

Pfft~ You go, Decossam!! XDDD

(And I want to hear the story about how this idea came about. XD)
