why am I not asleep? oh right, because I'm obsessed
Someone on
tenimyu scanned and uploaded a magazine interview with Setomaru and the newest D-Boy, the new Kaidoh (can't remember his name). The pictures are completely adorable, and I've been spending the last 2 hours or so trying to translate parts of the interview -- well, Setomaru's parts, anyway.
And EVERYTHING I FIND OUT ABOUT THIS BOY MAKES ME LOVE HIM MORE.
I think I'll try to translate what I can of the whole interview and post it, but here are the highlights of what I've figured out so far:
So, I was just kind of skimming the interview, seeing if I could pick out anything especially interesting -- not really, until Setomaru started talking about when and why he decided to become an actor. He said that in middle school, he wanted to be a "獣医". Now, I just glanced over this word because I didn't instantly recognize it, but then when he said later how after seeing a certain drama he told his mom he wanted to be an actor (which is adorable), I realized that what he had wanted to be in middle school wasn't an actor.
Now, this is a little weird -- for some, insane reason I thought "oh, I wonder if he wanted to be a veterinarian." THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON FOR ME TO THINK THIS. Other than, I suppose, the fact that I love animals. So I go back to the kanji, and I think I recognize that second one -- it's in the kanji for "doctor." So then I think "hmm, he wanted to be a doctor?" And then I look up that first kanji -- and find out it means "animal."
...I about died. I looked up the whole word, saw it meant "veterinarian," and proceeded to giggle like crazy.
After recovering from that (which took awhile), I went on to another interesting part of the interview -- the question was something along the lines of "Now, for our readers, we're going to ask this -- the two of you, what's your 'type'?"
Setomaru immediately replies with "I really like fair-skinned people!" Other guy -- I can remember his first name, it's "Tomo," so we'll just go with that -- says "Oh no, you said it first! Me too." Then they say some stuff that I totally don't understand, and then Setomaru talks about how during his school trip in high school, the bus tour guide was fair-skinned and really pretty, and he got his picture taken with her. Then:
Tomo: Really?! (laugh)
Setomaru: Yep. When I see a fair-skinned person, the tension rises! (laugh)
....Yeeeeah. He says "テンション上がる" ("tension agaru"), and with the crazy way they use the word "tension" in Japanese, I can't really tell exactly what that's supposed to mean. But, I think I can get the general idea. *giggle*
Then, when the interviewer asks Setomaru what else he likes (in a person), he says "Someone cute and pretty," and then "両方持ってる子がいいです," and I'm totally clueless about that. But anyway, he then says "But, a kind person is good."
And then comes the best part. The interviewer asks "Seto-kun's ideal is high, isn't it?" and he answers "Yep! That's why I don't have a girlfriend (laugh)."
...That amuses me to no end. ♥
Then Tomo talks some more, and says something else he likes in a person, which Setomaru agrees with. The interviewer mentions that they like a lot of the same things. Tomo says "Maybe..." and Setomaru says "Rival!! (laugh)" (also adorable)
Interviewer: So, what would you two do if you liked the same person?
Tomo: Wah~ That would be awkward!
Setomaru: I...wouldn't surrender!
Tomo: I would surrender.
*giggle* At the end, Setomaru says "I definitely wouldn't hand over the person I like! (Obviously)" The interviewer says something about him being "surprisingly enthusiastic" (or something along those lines), to which he replies "Yep, because I'm a Kyuushu boy!"
Gah. He's so friggin' cute. ♥ That "Yep, that's why I don't have a girlfriend" just kills me. And the veterinarian thing. And the fact that he's ADORABLE BEYOND WORDS.
...So yeah, now I want to buy the magazine. :D
I'M SO TIRED. ♥

You want to know the funny thing? Before I even read what you posted, I was thinking what some of the guys may have wanted to be in life before they decided to become actors. A veterinarian was my choice for Kouji. ^^;; Great minds think alike.
Thanks for posting this in the comm. It really made me smile after having a semi-cruddy night. ^^

*laughs* You thought that too? Doesn't it just seem to fit him? I'd been wondering for a while, since it's obvious he likes kids, whether he likes animals, too. ('Cause I like animals waaaaay better than kids.) And obviously he does! :D
And oh, I went a little nuts when I read that "fair-skinned" part. I was like, "I'm white, how much fairer-skinned can you get?!" ♥ (Nothing wrong with dreaming, right? ;D )

Yes! Him and that baby, from the special episode from DD-Boys volume 4. Killed me. I loved it. The first time I saw it I started squealing and my roommates thought I was being murdered. x3 Wow. I want to hug him.
You're not the only one going nuts. :D We're both white! Let's go to Japan, right now! Until then, I will dream. And feel almost like a pedophile for it. *shot*
no subject
Yeah, I know what you mean. He's only three years younger than me, but still. At least he's 18, so I don't have to feel
toobad :DAnd I'm all up for going to Japan! Unfortunately it costs money :( *pouts*
Him with the baby was the cutest thing ever. EVER. And I don't even like babies.

Money trees. We need money trees. Unfortunately, I am jobless until the summer. D: I quit my steady break job last year and had a random 3 month job at a school last summer. So. I'm poor. xD I need that money tree.
It was. It seriously made me want to fly to Japan. Find him. Hug him. Pinch his cheeks, and then flail away.
no subject
Yes, money trees. *nods* I wonder if they grow in this area... Heh, I have to do an internship this semester, so I probably won't have time for my work-study job :( And then after I graduate I'll have to find a real job...I want to go to Japaaaaan~~ *whine*
Yep, same here. Except I don't want to pinch his cheeks, I want to ruffle his hair, for some inexplicable reason. And I doubt I'd flail away, I'd probably start following him around until he got Watanabe Pro security to make me stop :D
no subject
D: At least you have an internship. I'm applying for one for the summer. And it pays like a full-time job so I was like "GIMME!" and it's in my field, so hopefully I'll get it this time. D: I wasn't so lucky with it last year. But if I keep trying, maybe they'll notice? ^^
XD *snorts* You ruffle his hair, I'll pinch his cheeks. I don't know why I want to. I just do. He's so cute. ;___; And he'd make me look like a little child if I ever stood next to him. He's 5'6-7"ish I believe and that's tall compared to me. ^^;;;;
no subject
Dammit, I'll be calling him Kyuushu Boy for the rest of my life now.
That translation was SO cute~!! o.O
no subject
Exactly! :D Now, if he only knew we existed...
And everything about this boy is cute. I don't know how he does it. ♥

We should do a birthday project for him when the time comes ^__^

I completely agree ♥ I've thought about it before; the problem is knowing where to send it. Someone over on
no subject
They're not allowed to accept presents, that's harsh!! DX We need to find someone who actually lives in Japan me thinks. If there's no one in
no subject
And yeah, it does seem harsh. I don't know how to find out for sure if they can...But I haven't been able to find a fan letter address on their site, so maybe they can't. :( But...if it's possible, we will find a way! *determined*

I'm not certain if this is correct, but someone once explained that the boys have to read the comments before they appear. I think it makes sense, since Yanagi's posts usually get upwards of thirty comments (except for his last two posts, but presumably he's busy with 'Cooky Crown' and 'Puzzle' Promotion) usually while the other boys have none.
no subject
But maybe he's just lazy. :D *pokes him* Read your comments, Setomaru~

As for the translation, I can help you with the two parts you were unsure about. 'tenshon': in this context, it means 'mood'. Goo.ne.jp definition (http://dictionary.goo.ne.jp/search.php?MT=%A5%C6%A5%F3%A5%B7%A5%E7%A5%F3&search_history=&kind=&kwassist=0&jn.x=32&jn.y=9&jn=%B9%F1%B8%EC&mode=0).
'ryouhou motteru ko ga ii': 'A girl who is (lit. has) both is good.'

...*giggle* He really does want it all, doesn't he? ♥

And now I will be a new Kaidoh fan. because he said he would surrender. oh, he sounds so shy.
This is good stuff. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Yep, that's why I don't have a girlfriend

YES, YOU WITH THE BIG ROUND EYES AND WONDERFUL SMILE.
STOP BEING SO ADORABLE. YOU'RE WEARING OUT A LOT OF FANGIRLS WHO ARE DOING THEIR BEST TO SPREAD YOUR CUTENESS TO US OTHER FANGIRLS WHO CAN'T GET IT FOR THEMSELVES.
