Help?

Does anyone know how to scan magazine pages without the scans having those lines all over the place? Or at least, with them being as unobtrusive as possible. I have scans from other people that look good, so I know it's possible. :( I've tried different settings, but nothing seems to work. I hope it's not just that my scanner is crappy, 'cause...that would really suck.

I don't have a scanner, so I can't offer any practical advice from personal experience, but here's what someone said on a magazine scan post over at abe_love:

Here's a tip - by using the scanner's descreen option it will help remove the dot pattern on magazine scans :D

So...descreen option? Does your scanner have that...?

I'd read about the descreen thing before -- probably on that same post. :D And yeah, it does have that option, and it does make a difference, just not as much of one as I'd like. :(
